CPI(M) Protests Against Govt Policies, Demands Cash Transfer To Non-Taxpaying Citizens

CPI(M) stages protests across several Indian cities against government policies demanding cash transfer of Rs. 7500 per month for a period of six months to all families outside the income tax-paying bracket, free distribution of 10 kg foodgrains to every individual per month for a period of six months, a minimum of 200 days employment under MNREGA with enhanced wages, extend employment guarantee scheme to the urban poor. The party also demanded the immediate announcement of an unemployment allowance for unemployed persons. Anjali Ojha reports
