The latest NCRB data shows that while 7990 businessmen committed suicide in 2018, in the year 2019, 9052 businessmen took their lives. This means that in the last year, the number of suicide cases of traders increased by 13% and in 2019, 24 businessmen lost their lives every day i.e. every hour a businessman commits suicide. Maharashtra recorded the highest number of 14.2% of the suicides of traders, followed by 11.7% in Tamil Nadu, 9.7% in Karnataka, 8.2% in West Bengal and 7.8% in Madhya Pradesh
