Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) spokesperson and longtime farmers' leader Rakesh Tikait appeared in a video address today in which he dispelled all rumours of the farmers’ protest being disbanded just because the three farming laws have been repealed. He reiterated the other pending demands of the movement that were raised by the SKM. This includes legislation on MSP and withdrawal cases against farmers.

He referred to a 2011 committee which also included the present Prime Minister who was then the Gujarat Chief Minister and had said that there should be a law guaranteeing MSP. “Today he is the PM, jutst implement that report and there will be no need for a new committee”.

He also brought up the “information” that 150 tractors confiscated by Delhi Police, more than 50,000 cases are pending against farmers in Haryana alone. Those cases should be taken back, and until that happens, the farmers will not return home.

Tikait said that the government is trying to keep the farmers in the dark and fool them, which he says will be unsuccessful. He also told villagers and farmers to “get ready for the final match” even as the government tries to spread the narrative that the movement is over and the farmers are returning home.
