The government is in denial mode by saying its an act of God alone, says Prof Arun Kumar, Institute of Social Sciences on the historic slump in GDP growth rate in Q2 2020. Kumar speaking to GoNews correspondent Sidharth Pandey says 80 crore people have gone below the poverty line due to the economic situation and the govt needs to cut back on needless spending & spend on supporting the unorganised sector. Among his suggestions to revive the economy, one was that the govt should cut salaries of govt employees also to contribute to the revival and the other was to issue Revival Bonds to tap deposits with the RBI and to spur investment.
