At a time, when at least 188 countries are hit by COVID-19 and under various lockdowns, it's only India, which has both the youngest and the poorest populations, that the strictest measures have been enforced.

This has left in its wake the tremendous migrants' crisis, among others. GoNews Editor-in-Chief Pankaj Pachauri sums up the situation under the motto of "Youngest, Poorest And Strictest'

Among the top ten worst-hit nations by COVID-19, India and Russia make the most share of COVID-19 deaths, but the death curve is flattening in the rest eight nations

Globally, the maximum share of total COVID-19 deaths is of those aged above 40.

The average COVID-19 death age in Germany is 45 years, 43 years in Spain, 41 years in France, 40 years in Britain, 38 years in Russia, 37 years in America, 37 years in China, 31 years in Brazil, 29 years in Turkey and 26 years in India. That is, India is a poor country but it is rich in terms of youth.

India stands at the bottom in terms of per capita income. As compared to other nations, the country’s per capita income is $5,961 whereas China is $12,000. The US is at the top with a per capita income of $53,000

On the other hand, in terms of strictness, India is only second to China. That is, India is in the top position in COVID-19: Government Response Stringency Index, but lower in terms of per capita income.

Whereas, Germany, which has shown the lowest strictness, comes second to the US in terms of per capita income.
