The Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress Committee held a press conference today in which Harish Rawat, the former CM of the state and five-time MP and currently AICC in-charge of Punjab, presented the party’s white paper to the Modi government o a range of people's issues and claimed that no other party had placed such issues and demands so "analyticaly" as the Congress such that the government would be compelled to respond. He then said that just like the people of Himachal had given a "slap" to the Modi government (referring to the BJP's performance in the recent by-polls in the state), they would do the same in Uttarakhand.

The Congress will present a united front and sustained campaign against inflation and high prices, Rawat said.
