Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath, along with Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and his state counterpart Nand Gopal Gupta, are present in Jewar to lay the foundation stone of the Noida International Airport at Jewar, UP.

The Noida International Airport will be the country’s, and Asia’s, largest airport and it is being claimed to be a logistics hub of North India in the future. It will be Uttar Pradesh’s fifth international airport when completed.

The airport will encompass more than 1300 acres of land and will handle 1.2 crore passengers daily, on completion. The construction of the airport will be finished in four phases, and the inauguration will be held on September 2024, right before the 18th Lok Sabha elections.

The Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the airport after UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s address.

Poll Rhetoric: Yogi Brings Up Jinnah And “Enemies” Of Farmers

Yogi Adityanath spoke at the event, saying that he was pleased to see a huge turnout of people. He appreciated the 700 farmers who had “willingly” given land for the airport and said that this represents a changed Uttar Pradesh.

He then delved into election rhetoric and said that while the farmers of this region grew sweet sugarcane in the past, some people who he termed “enemies” of the farmers turned it into bitterness, a veiled reference to the prolonged protests against three farming laws passed by Parliament in September and last year and to be withdrawn in this Winter Session.

Uttar Pradesh is due for elections in 2022, i.e., next year,.
