A firing incident by 21 Assam Rifles in Nagaland led to the deaths of 14 civilians and caused massive outrage and unrest in parts of the state. Home Minister Amit Shah is slated to deliver a statement on the violence by security forces in #LokSabha today while there was ruckus in the Rajya Sabha over the incident as well. The Nagaland state police has said has lodged a suo moto FIR against personnel of the 21 Para (SF) for the firing that happened on Saturday evening in Mon district of the state.

Nagaland CM Neiphiu Rio and Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma have both come out in support of the demand to repeal #AFSPA. CM Neiphiu Rio also took part in the funeral ceremony of the deceased.
