Nine persons died while 1,900 people were shifted to safer locations in Gujarat on Monday as heavy rains wreak havoc in several parts of the state, especially the Saurashtra region, causing flooding in low-lying areas and throwing normal life out of gear. According to the state government, the teams of NDRF and SDRF are engaged in rescue operations. So far, nearly two thousand people have been evacuated from Ahmedabad, Mehsana, Sabarkantha and Patan districts
