More than two crore salaried people lost their jobs in the last five months across the country, reveals the latest data from the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE). As per the data, about 50 lakh Indias lost their jobs in July. At the same time, 30.3 lakh salaried people became unemployed in August. The share of salaried people in total employment during the financial year 2019-20 was 8.6 crore which has now come down to 6.5 crore
