Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the media ahead of the Winter Session fo Parliament in which he said that “this session is extremely important”. He said that the parliament should function in the spirit of those who dreamed of freedom and also of the ongoing ‘Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations to mark 75 years of independence.

"The government is ready to take al l questions", the PM said. 

Modi said that every citizen of the country wants that “the parliament should find new ways of making the country progress” and he hopes that in the future, Parliamentary outcomes should be judged on what was achieved rather than “who put the maximum effort to halt the proceedings of Parliament”.

There should be vigorous questioning but also decorum in the House. “We want that the government should face as much scrutiny and criticism as necessary, but we should set an exemplary example regarding how we treat the dignity of Parliament, the Speaker, and the Chair.
