PM Reviews Situation Of Ukraine War & Indians Stuck in Warzone

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over a high-level conference to assess efforts to evacuate Indian people stranded in Ukraine, the most of whom are students.

Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval, and other senior officials are among those in attendance at the meeting.

This is the Prime Minister's fifth review meeting on Operation Ganga's ongoing attempts to repatriate Indians to Ukraine amid Russian military operations.

The government has also send'special diplomats' to four nations bordering Ukraine in order to coordinate and supervise the evacuation of Indian people.

Union Minister for Petroleum and Natural Gas Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Law Minister Kiren Rijiju, Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, and Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways and Civil Aviation Gen VK Singh will oversee evacuation efforts in Hungary, Slovakia, and Romania.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, 8,000 Indian nationals have fled Ukraine since the first travel alert was issued by the Indian Embassy in Ukraine.
