The AAP's CM candidate Bhagwant Mann, an MP from Sangrur, has won from the Dhuri seat in Punjab Assembly Elections. The AAP has won 93 seats in Punjab, followed by Congress with 16, SAD+ at 2, and 1 seat to others. He has promised to be a CM with a difference, and raised a number of issues in his victory address to his supporters. He said that reducing unemployment, particularly among youth, would be his main priority.

He also said that he will display his photograph in government offices, which will only feature Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and Bhagat Singh, and will ensure that Punjab is 'run from villages, mohallas, wards, and cities' rather than from 'palaces', and that officials will be made to serve the public since they are public servants. The AAP has won 93 seats in Punjab, sweeping away the incumbent Congress, whose major leaders including ex-CM Charanjit Singh Channi, Navjot Singh Sidhu, and others are trailing or have lost. Similarly, ex-CM Amarinder Singh also lost his bastion of Patiala Urban.
