About Rs 2,326 crore has been transferred to ineligible beneficiaries, including income tax payees, under the PM-KISAN scheme. However, during reply in Rajya Sabha, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar quoted the number of ineligible beneficiaries to be around 32.91 lakh, while in Lok Sabha he said the number of such beneficiaries is 40.48 lakh. The plan originally aimed to benefit 14.5 crore farmers, the government says so far 10.74 lakh farmers have benefitted. Anjali Ojha reports
