The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) and other farmers have reactd after the decision to repeal of the three contentious farming laws was announced by PM Modi. While they have welcomed the move, they have been clear that it is a result of their democratic struggle and sacrifice (700 farmers lost their lives in the course of this movement) that made the 'dictatorial' and 'authoritarian' government bend its knee. it has also come out strongly against "Godi media" (mainstream media loyal to government) and thanked those sections of the independent media that "showed the truth of the agitation to the world".
