With the formal announcement of Joe Biden as Democratic nominee in the presidential race, Editor-in-Chief Pankaj Pachauri analyses the 2020 US elections which is marked by Pandemic, economic recession and widespread anti-racism protests and will Trump lose the election as predicted by History Professor Allan Lichtman, known as ‘Nostradamus of presidential elections’.

Reports suggest that President Trump may suffer a major setback in this election. Surveys show that more than 50 percent of Americans are in favor of making Biden president. While President Trump's popularity is steadily decreasing. Compared to the previous record, now only 41.3 percent people are in favor of Trump.

However, the popularity of the Democrat Party has increased after Joe Biden's Kamala Harris was named vice-president. There are 12 in the 14 battleground states of the US where the Democrat Party is gaining an edge. Whereas Republicans won in these states in the last election. Now there are only two states where the popularity of the trump still continues, which is continuously decreasing.

The recent survey shows that this time a Democrat Party government can be formed in America. That means Joe Biden could have a big win. If we look at the figures, there is a 71 percent chance that Biden can become president.

However, the special thing is that in the last election, Donald Trump's chances of winning were also 29% and the probability of Hillary Clinton winning was 71%. Not only this, until the voting was done, there was a possibility that Hillary Clinton would become the President, but the election results had shocked the whole world. Now after November 3, it will be clear that America's leadership will remain in Trump's hands or be snuffed out.
