Akhilesh Yadav and Omprakash Rajbhar were present at a rally in Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh, as part of canvassing for the UP Assembly elections 2022.

Rajbhar raised the slogan: “Unles BJP IS Sent Off, There Will Be No Relaxation”.

Akhilesh Yadav compared the tenure of his government against the one that has been going on for fur and a half years, raising various points on which the Samajwadi Party did better

Development, Price Rises, COVID And Demonetization Main Points Of Speech

During his address, Akhilesh Yadav also took a potshot at the Prime Miniter’s 2017 speech in which he said “I will walk away with my jhola (cloth sling bag)” indicating himself as a fakeer (mendicant). Yadav said that “we are family people. We got to the market with a jhola to get groceries and essentials for our families, so we know what inflation is. And thsis price rise is deliberate. If they wanted, they could have stopped it, but they are not, and prices are rising continuously” he said.

He further said all the instances in which people always end up standing in line, whether it be demonetization, obtaining fertilizer, and for hospitalizations, medications, and treatment during COVID waves.

Caste Census Issue, Criticizes Inaugurations Without Providing Facilities

Yadav said that the present government lieks to talk about cow protection but has no solutions for the real prblems of agriculture and livestock. He also said that the government is only undertaking repeated inaugurations but is not even able to provde water and irrigation. He mocked the BJP for using pictures from other places to show its “development” in Uttar Pradesh.

“They not only change names but steal others’ wok too. Do you want a name-changing government or a governemtn that actually works?” he asked the crowd.

“We are assuring you, this is a new Samajwadi Party, we will talk about everyone’s welfare, represenation and righs” he said, respnding indirectly to the public perception that the party is centred around Yadavs and Muslims only. He brought up the issue of caste-based census, i.e., counting the members of every caste. He said “caste census is not being conducted because their caste is on paper only, they know that the moment counting happens, they will be exposed”. He said that the Samajwadi Party will accord ‘respect’ and opportunities to castes based on their actual numbers.
