Union Cabinet meeting approved the New Education Policy 2020 which makes tall claims including a claim that two crore children who have dropped out from schools will be brought back into the mainstream. For this, the development of school infrastructure and the establishment of new education centres will be done. Statistics from the Ministry of Human Resources show that the drop-out rate in India in 2017-18 was 3.5% at the primary level, 5.02% at the upper primary level & 18.96% at the secondary level. Among them, the condition of Muslim, Dalit, and tribal society students is even worse.
