Women's Day: Anganwadi Workers Protest In Delhi, Strike Enters 2 Months!

Anganwadi workers and helpers under the Delhi government's women and child development ministry have been protesting since January 31 for increased wages and government benefits for their services. In response, they say, they have been targeted with pressure to call off their strike.

On March 8th, International Women's Day, thousands of Anganwadi workers marched from Delhi Secretariat to Rajghat to voice their demands. Rajendra Pal Gautam, Women And Child Development minister, has said that the Delhi government's revision of pay would make Delhi's Anaganwadi workers the highest paid nationwide.
