Akhilesh Yadav | "Govt May Walk Back" After Farming Laws Repeal

 “The repeal of the black laws is a defeat for arrogance and a victory for farmers and democracy” said Akhilesh Yadav in a press conference held today at the party headquarters. Yadav said that the ‘false apologies’ cannot hold up in front of the ‘true deaths’ and sacrifices made by the farmers towards achieving this goal.

Yadav read from a printed statement in a press conference in which he came out heavily against the ruling BJP. He said that those seeking forgiveness should also quit politics. They think that they can come to power again based on this “fake apology”.

He compared the Land Acquisition Bill in 2015 to the present three farming laws. The law has been repealed for votes and not in farmers’ interests. The farmers had to face many insults and hurtful words in the course of their movement by the BJP, their supporters and enablers.

He said that under the common responsibility of the Cabinet, the entire Cabinet and government should resign. He then brought up the Lakhipur Kheri killings of farmers, and questioned why the  minister accused [Ajay Mishra Teni, Mos Home] in the case is still part of the Cabinet.

Repeal Announced For Votes, Govt May Walk Back After Polls

AkhleshYadav said further that the move may well have been made with the intention of walking back later, afte the polls are done. He said that the decision has been announced for fear of major electoral losses.

He asked who ill assure whether the government will not bring in such a law again I the future. He said that if their intentions were good, then farmers would not have to stand in line for fertilizer. He also rejected the PM’s claim of developing mandis in Bundelkhand.

Farmers’ Deaths; Max Cases Faced By SP Workers In Farmers’ Movement

Yadav also asked if the BJP’s apology will bring back the farmers who died in the course of the protests. He said that the maximum number of cases were faced by Samajwadi Party workers during the course of this struggle as reply to a journalist’s question. He said that the protests were effective in shaking not only Lucknow but Delhi too.
