Amid the apprehensions that the Centre wants to end the Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC) in the country in a bid to privatise agriculture like it was done in Bihar in 2006, latest data show that Bihar's farmer has the lowest income in India, at Rs 45,317 per annum. Perhaps that is why Punjab farmers, who are counted among the richest farmers in the country, are leading the protests, fearing that they might also end up similar to their Bihari counterparts
