The Congress party on Tuesday cornered the UP government and police over the deteriorating law and order in the state after a journalist, Vikram Joshi, was shot by assailants in Ghaziabad. The victim remains hospitalised in critical condition. Congress Party leader Jitin Prasada claimed that Joshi was allegedly attacked because he had filed an FIR against a group of men who were harassing his niece, adding that the UP Police had cognisance of the matter and still didn't act on an earlier complaint filed by the journalist
