COVID-19 Update: 2.38 Lakh Cases, 310 Deaths, 8,891Omicron Cases
Amid the ongoing third wave of the coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic, India recorded 2.38 lakh cases of the virus, including 8,891 cases of the Omicron variant. Yesterday’s tally was 2.58 lakh, which itself was a 5% decline from Sunday’s total. There have been 310 deaths in the past 24 hours, down from 385 the day before. There are more than 17 lakh active cases at present (17,36,628), denoting 4.62% of the total cases. The recovery rate is 94.09%, with 1,57,421 recoveries in the past 24 hours.
Worst-affected states are Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu.
There have been over 158.04 crore (1,58,04,41,770) vaccines administered so far, with 79.91 lakh (79,91,230) doses given in the past 24 hours. At present, as at the time of writing, there have been 9,34,117 COVID-19 vaccines administered.
