The Delhi Government responding to criticism on not providing mid-day meals in government run schools, The Delhi Government on tuesday clarified that it distributed dry rations instead of resuming with the mid-day meals as only half of the students were attending the school.

The mid-day meals will resume in full strength once all the students attend schools. “For 100% children to get the benefit of mid-day meal, door to door delivery of dry ration is being done now. As soon as there is 100% attendance in schools, door to door ration delivery will be stopped and mid-day meals will be started,” a government spokesperson said.

From March 15th the mid-day meal scheme will resume in its original form in all schools across Maharashtra as per the circular issued by  the Directorate of School Education.
