Goa has become the first state in India to provide water tap connection to 100 percent of its households in rural areas. According to the Ministry of Water Power, 2.3 lakh rural households in Goa have got piped water supply under the Jal Jeevan Mission. The Water Mission of the government aims to provide water to all villages by pipes by the year 2024 for which it will spend Rs 3.5 lakh crore
