A video of a girl being stopped by a saffron scarf-clad mob has surfaced amid the tremendous controversy surrounding the Karnataka hijab row.

A girl at a college is seen being harassed by a mob chanting Jai Shri Ram in the video. In front of the girl, the males in the mob advanced and shouted "Jai Shri Ram." The girl, for her part, chanted 'Allah-hu-Akbar' loudly before turning back in the face of the mob's hostility.

The Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind (JuH) has given a prize of Rs 5 lakh for the Karnataka student.

Bibi Muskan Khan, a second-year graduating student, defended her constitutional and religious rights against the protest, according to Maulana Mahmood Madani, the president of the JuH. The Rs 5 lakh was hailed by Madani as a prize for her bravery.

The Karnataka government has, meantime, made it quite plain that there will be no admittance of children who do not avoid hijab or saffron scarves to schools.

The protests have gotten even louder now that the Karnataka High Court is considering the issue about the hijab controversy and the standoff between students and the administration about wearing hijab.
