Eight policemen, including a DSP and three sub-inspectors, were shot dead on Friday at a village in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur district during a raid to arrest a dreaded criminal. Several others were injured. According to Uttar Pradesh DGP, HC Awasthi, the police team had gone to arrest a history-sheeter, Vikas Dubey, when it was ambushed by his accomplices. Dubey had an attempt to murder case against him.
