Akhilesh Yadav conducted a press conference today in which he welcomed Rakesh Rathod from BJP, Sushma Patel from BSP, Aslam Raini and Aslam Ali among other leaders into the Samajwadi Party. He took a potshot at the BJP, taunting its recent membership campaign and saying that "Mera Parivar Bhajpaa Parivar" (BJP Is My Family) should be "Mera Parivaar Bhaagta Parivar" (My Family Is Running Away). He said that the BJP will be "cleaned out" in the coming elections, and asked the present CM Yogi Adityanath to keep the CM residence clean for the next government to take its place. 

Yadav aimed at the BJP government of the state for failing to keep up its promises made to various sections including farmers, which included a "roadmap" for doubling their income by 2022. He targeted inflation and price rises and the crises facing farmers, including the issue of MSP which he claimed hasn't been paid out to "even one" farmer. They have also not been compensated for losses due to rains.
