Efforts to form a coalition government by Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party(NCP) and Congress(INC) continue after President Rule is imposed in Maharashtra.

This was after a report from Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari to the central government that none of the three parties - BJP, SS, and NCP. could produce numbers to stake claim to power after 20 days since October 24 state election results.
