Amid the celebration of the National Handloom Day, the All India Handloom Board has been abolished. A notification was issued announcing the abolition of this board as per the principle of 'Minimum Government Maximum Governance'. All India Handicraft Board has also been abolished. These advisory bodies which had representation from the industry advised the government on its policies related to the industry.
