Affecting over 30 million students, the Supreme Court has upheld the UGC circular of July 6 that the students will not be promoted without examination and exams must be conducted while hearing the case of final year examinations of universities during the coronavirus pandemic. The Supreme Court said that if a state feels it is not possible for them to conduct the examination, then it can go to the UGC. The court said that under the Disaster Management Act, states can postpone the exam citing the coronavirus but they must set new dates in consultation with the UGC
