The Sankyukta Kisan Morcha, the umbrela body under which the ngoing farmers' protest is being held, has suspended Yogendra Yadav, a prominenet leader and convenor of Swaraj India, a farmers' rights organization. He has been suspended for one month because he went to visit the family of a BJP worker who was killed as alleged 'retaliation' after his role in mowing down 4 farmers in the infamous Lakhimpur Kheri killings.

Yogendra Yadav had tweeted about his interaction with the family, cnveying their questions on whether they too are not farmers and on Rakesh Tikait's 'action-reaction' comment. For this, a general meeting of the SKM has decided to suspend him for one month in the interests of the movement. This leaves him unable to participate in any of the prganiztion's meetings, including its core committee, and Yadav can only be present at protest sites.
