Struggling With Lack of Doctors, India Faces Mounting COVID-19 Cases
As COVID-19 cases reach near three lakhs, the responsibility of handling them has come on the shoulders of doctors and health workers who are already few in numbers. Union Minister of State for Health Ashwani Kumar Choubey informed Parliament that there is a shortage of six lakh doctors in the country. The situation is such that 15,700 primary health centres of the country are running with the help of only one doctor.
