There are several seats in Uttar Pradesh where the presence of #Muslims and #Dalits can swing the results and determine the outcome. The #EC has stated that the term of the present government in UP will end on 14th May, meaning thereby that the current Yogi government will have time to announce elections in April, which is when the holy month of Ramzan will begin for Muslims. It remains to be sene what effect the shifting of voting dates to Ramzan will have on the Muslim electorate, particularly on women who not only fast but also take care of the household.
