Indian boxer Mary Kom advanced to the semi-finals by defeating Ingrit Valencia of Colombia 5–0 in the quarter-finals of the 51 kg category of the Women's World Boxing Championship being held in Russia. With this victory, Mary Kom's eighth World Boxing Championship medal is guaranteed.
