16 Out Of 78 People Evacuated From Afghanistan Test COVID Positive In Delhi

Sixteen out of the 78 Afghanistan evacuees that landed in India yesterday are COVID-19 positive. As a precaution, all 78 people have been quarantined.

Among those who are infected are three granthis who carried the copies of the Sikh holy scriptures back to India from Kabul. Union Minister Hardeep Puri had received the copies of the Sikh holy scripture at the Delhi airport on Tuesday morning.

Minister Hardeep Puri said, “A total of 626 people, including 228 Indian citizens, have been evacuated from Afghanistan till now. 77 among them were Afghan Sikhs. The number of Indian citizens evacuated does not include those working in the Indian Embassy.”
