‘Amit Shah, PM Modi Should Be Booked’: Farmer After Suicide Bid At Singhu Border

A 65-year-old farmer from Punjab attempted suicide by consuming poison at the Delhi-Haryana Singhu border in protest against the Centre's contentious farm laws, officials said.

The victim, Niranjan Singh from Tarn Taran, was admitted to the Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS)  in Rohtak, where his condition is stable now.

"I am feeling good. This government at least acts when an incident like suicide happens. In normal course, if a person attempts suicide, the one who pushes the victim to suicide is booked by the police. In my case, Amit Shah and PM Modi should be booked," he said.

Earlier, Sikh priest Baba Ram Singh from Haryana’s Karnal died by suicide at Singhu border on December 16 after he shot himself.

The 65-year-old 'sant' left a suicide note which stated that he couldn't see the ordeal of farmers who are protesting against the farm laws.
