Bhavinaben Patel Wins Silver At Tokyo Paralympics, Puts Fighting Performance In Final

Bhavinaben Patel became only the second Indian woman to win a medal at the Paralympics after her 0-3 loss to world number one Chinese paddler Ying Zhou in the women’s singles table tennis class 4 final in Tokyo on Sunday.

Bhavinaben put up a fighting performance but lost 7-11, 5-11, 6-11 to the two-time gold medallist. This was India’s first medal at the Tokyo Paralympics.

Deepa Malik was the first Indian woman to win a medal in the Paralympic Games when she won a silver medal in shotput at Rio Paralympics five years back. She is also the current president of the Paralympic Committee of India (PCI).
