The S&P BSE Sensex topped the historical milestone of 50,000 in Thursday's session as the Indian benchmark indices touched fresh lifetime highs, on the back of favourable global cues.
Meanwhile, Nifty has also surpassed the 14,700-mark with a jump of 86 points.
Market regulator SEBI on Wednesday approved Reliance Industries to buy Future Group estates, a deal worth Rs 24,713 crore, following which the Sensex witnessed a jump on Thursday. Now the BSE Sensex has gone beyond 50,000 with a gain of 304 points.
Sensex has taken 6 years 8 months and 5 days to reach here. The BSE Sensex has risen from 22,000 to 50,000 during this period.
