Budget 2022: Announcements Made By Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman So Far

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is presenting the fourth budget of the Modi 2.0 government today. The Economic Survey was released before the budget, in which it was said that the government has a GDP growth rate of 8-8.5 per cent in the 2022-23 financial year.

The government's planned capital expenditure for the current fiscal is estimated to be over Rs 5.5 lakh crore. The government will have to focus on building infrastructure and this number will be kept in mind for the next financial year as well.

  • Capital expenditure raised to Rs 7.5 lakh crore
  • E-passports to be introduced in 2022-23 to facilitate foreign travel
  • For urban capacity building, modernization of buildings, town planning schemes and transit oriented development will be implemented by law.
  • A Center of Excellence will be set up at a cost of 250 crores for the development of urban areas.
  • Battery swapping policy will be introduced and inter-operational service will be created.
  • 'One Nation, One Registration' will be set up for anywhere registration to facilitate ease of living and doing business.
  • The private sector will be encouraged to create sustainable and innovative business models for efficiency improvement, battery as a service and energy in the EV ecosystem.
