Both Tamil Nadu and Kerala are on high alert with souther parts reporting heavy to very heavy rainfall.
According to the India Meteorological Department, Cyclone ‘Burevi’ will cross Tamil Nadu’s Pamban in the next three hours and will cross South TN Coast between Pamban and Kanyakumari during the intervening night of December 3 and 4.
At 1430 hrs IST, Cyclone ‘Burevi’ lay close to Pamban with associated wind speed of 70-80 kmph gusting to 90 kmph. To move across Pamban area during next 3 hours. To cross south TN coast between Pamban & Kanniyakumari during 3rd night and 4th early hours. pic.twitter.com/4cfELdL3QB

The IMD forecast that winds gusting with a speed of 90 km/hr at the time of landfall.

NDRF teams have been deployed for relief and rescue operation while 35 Disaster Relief teams have been kept standby for an expeditious response, along with 9 ships for SAR and relief work. Fishermen have also been advised not to venture into the sea till the cyclonic storm is over.
