Editors’ Guild Seeks Probe Into Pegasus Scandal, Goes To Supreme Court

The Editors’ Guild of India has gone to the Supreme Court asking an investigation into the Pegasus spyware scandal. The Editors’ Guild of India has asked the court to seek details from the Centre on the spyware contract and a list of people who were targeted.

Senior journalist Paranjoy Guha Thakurta and four others filed the petitions in the Supreme Court after they were on the alleged list of targets for surveillance by the spyware.

Their petition read, “The unauthorised use of surveillance by government agencies have violated our fundamental rights guaranteed under the Constitution.”
