England thrashed India by eight wickets in the first T20 International at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday. England now lead the five match series 1-0.
England team first restricted India to 124/7 in their 20 overs. Shreyas Iyer remained the top scorer for India with 67 off 48 balls. Rishabh Pant (21 off 23 balls) and Hardik Pandya (19 off 21 balls) were the only others to get to double figures. Jofra Archer returned as the most successful England bowler picking three wickets for 23 runs in four overs.
In reply, the visitors achieved the target in 15.3 overs.
England opening batsmen Jason Roy and Jos Buttler added 72 runs in eight overs to give the visitors a rocking start.
