Farm Bills Protests: Farmers In Huge Numbers Hit The Streets In Punjab, Haryana On Third Day

Today marks the third day of farmers' demonstrations across the country against the controversial agricultural bills. Opposition parties including farmers' organisations are also participating in the nationwide protests. It is reported that so far more than 100 farmer organisations have given their support to the movement.

The members of the Kisan Sangharsh Committee are continuing their 'rail roko' agitation against the contentious farm bills. On Saturday too, farmers sat on the railway tracks and are urging the government to withdraw the bill. The Kisan Sangharsh Committee started the 'rail roko' agitation on 24 September which will last till 26 September.

However, Prime Minister Modi has appealed to the party workers to go among the farmers and explain to them the benefits of the 'historic' bills. The government says that the opposition is deceiving the farmers.
