A firefight broke out between unidentified gunmen, Western security forces and Afghan guards at the North Gate of Kabul airport on Monday.
The German military on Twitter said that one Afghan guard was killed and there others were injured in the firefight, which also involved U.S. and German Forces. It has not been specified whether the dead Afghan was one of the Taliban fighters deployed at the airport.
The Kabul airport has been an environment of chaos since the Taliban took over Afghanistan with many Afghans fleeing the country. International forces have also been trying to evacuate citizens and vulnerable Afghans.
