The farmers are demanding the complete withdrawal of the new farm laws, whereas the government says they have agreed to make necessary amendments but won't repeal the 'reformist' laws

The farmers' movement entered its 19th day on Monday as both the govt and farmers have failed to break the deadlock. The farmers are demanding the complete withdrawal of the new farm laws, whereas the government says they have agreed to make necessary amendments but won't repeal the laws.

Now farmer leader Gurnam Singh Chadhuni has accused the government of misleading the farmers regarding the Minimum Support Price (MSP). Chaduni said in a statement that the "Govt is misleading everyone on MSP. Home Minister Amit Shah replied to us during the 8th Dec meet that they can't buy all 23 crops at MSP as its costs Rs 17 lakh crores." Gurnam added that the "Centre will continue buying crops at the same amount, as they use to before, that's what 'buying at MSP' means for them. But we can't survive on that anymore. And Centre is not buying crops at MSP from all states."

Due to the non-acceptance of their demand by the government, farmers across the country have called to protest outside all the district headquarters. At the same time, farmer leaders sitting on the Delhi border have announced a hunger strike from 8 am to 5 pm today.
