Highest 24-Hr Spike In COVID Cases Recorded In India With 58,097 Cases

On Tuesday, India recorded a 56% spike in Covid cases in 24 hours, with a 20,000 increase over Monday’s total, which was at 37,123 and the highest since the one recorded in June 19, 2021, amidst the second wave of coronavirus infections. The daily count has increased by 6 times in 9 days. The recoverey rate, however, is 98.01% and 15,389 people have recovered in the past 24 hours.

Maharashtra currently tops the list of coronavirus cases with 18,466 cases and 20 deaths, followed by West Bengal (9,073 cases, 16 deaths) and Delhi (5,481 cases, 3 deaths) on Tuesday.

Multiple states have announced restrictions and the anticipation that the third wave of COVID-19 is already here is being accepted by many people, including experts and politicians.

At present, there have been more than 147 crore vaccinations administered in India in total, of which 86.12 crore are first doses and 61.63 crore are second doses. More than 9 lakh vaccinations have been administered today as of the time of writing, with over 6.97 lakh first vaccinations and above 3.03 lakh second doses.
