IGL Raises CNG And PNG Prices In Delhi-NCR

In the midst of the present fuel crisis, Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) increased the price of compressed natural gas (CNG) in Delhi by Rs 2.5 per kg on Thursday, April 14th, raising the price from Rs 69.11 per kg to Rs 71.61 per kg.

CNG will now cost 74.17 per kg in Ghaziabad, Noida, and Greater Noida, up Rs 2.5 from last week's price. The price has been increased to Rs 79.94 per kg in Gurugram.

CNG costs Rs 78.84 per kg in Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, and Shamli, and Rs 82.07 per kg in Rewari as of Thursday.

CNG costs Rs 80.27 per kg in Karnal and Kaithal, Rs 83.40 per kg in Kanpur, Hamirpur, and Fatehpur, and Rs 81.88 per kg in Ajmer, Pali, and Rajsamand.

The consecutive increases came only weeks after the results of five states' Assembly elections were published on March 10th.

The Rajya Sabha was postponed on 5 April as the Opposition protested the significant increase in petrol prices in Parliament.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman recently connected the rise to the continuing conflict in Ukraine and the resulting interruptions to the petroleum supply chain. Crude oil prices have been unstable due to worries of supply disruptions as a result of Russian sanctions.
