Kisan Diwas: Protesting Farmers Pay Tribute To Ex-PM Chaudhary Charan Singh, To Decide On Govt's Invitation

Today is the 28th day of farmers' protest against the new agricultural laws. For almost a month, farmers of Punjab, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh have been demonstrating on the borders of Delhi demanding the withdrawal of the 'black laws'.

In the midst of all this, farmers' unions are going to celebrate Farmers Day today. At the same time, the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee will demonstrate in support of farmers on the birthday of farmer leader and former Prime Minister Chaudhary Charan Singh.

'Today, on the occasion of Farmers Day, I congratulate all the annadata. They have provided food security to the country. Some farmers are agitated about agricultural laws. The government is talking to them with full sensitivity. I hope they withdraw their movement soon,' tweeted Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Farmers Day.

Today, farmers' organisations will also take the decision on the invitation given by the government for talks. The decision was to be taken yesterday but due to lack of agreement between the farmers, farmers' meet will be held on the Singhu border again today.

Today is also the third day of farmers' relay hunger strike. A relay hunger strike was announced by the farmers' unions, in which 11 farmers will sit on a 24-hour hunger strike daily.
