Assam’s disaster management agency on Friday said that over 1.33 lakh people across 11 districts were affected as the flood situation in the state worsened.
The districts that are affected by floods due to heavy rainfall are Biswanath, Bongaigaon, Chirang, Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Lakhimpur, Majuli, Sivasagar, Sonitpur, and Tinukia.
162 people and 40 animals have been evacuated so far with the help of boats.
63,891 people have been affected in Bongaigaon while 31,500 have been affected in Dhemaji. 13,239 people have been affected in Majuli.
